Free Spring Family Festival Hosted by Boca Raton Pen Women

The Boca Raton Branch National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) will present a full- day festival for everyone in your family – children and adults. The Pen Women professional artists, writers, and composers, will share their expertise in workshops, activities, discussions and exhibits that will inspire and entertain you throughout the day.

The public is invited to enjoy and join the free festival activities on Saturday, March 4, 2017. This special event will be held at the Center for Spiritual Living, 2 SW 12th Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Festival Event Schedule

For Children
– Participate in a musical story—the Peace Patch—composed by Sheila Firestone
and create a pastel art mural with Dr. Myra Levick and Sheila Firestone  10:00  – 11:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.

– Write poetry with published poet, Marlene Klotz 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

For Adults
– Meet Pen Women authors, artists and composers 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

– How to Self-Publish Your Book – workshop with Meryl Davids Landau 10 – 11:00 a.m.

– Open mic with MC, Etta Shaeffer 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

– Poetry Workshop/Collage Creation with poets, Vera Ripp Hirschhorn and Dayle Herstik 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

– Author Talk with published authors, Dr. Myra Levick, Alexandra Goodwin, and Carol White 12:30 – 1:15 p.m.

For Everyone
– Juried Art Show 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

– Art Demonstrations 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

– Storytelling with Etta Schaffer 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

– Closing piano concert with original music by Sheila Firestone, composer 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.

– Raffle Drawings 12:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m

Refreshments by Cheffrey Eats, a gourmet food truck, featuring gourmet burgers, mac & cheese, snacks and lite bites will be available outside the Center.

Proceeds for this event will benefit the Boca Raton Pen Women Scholarship Fund.
